So my Husband and I have been quite sure we are going to name this boy Alaric, but lately I’ve the name Malachi is really growing on me and I love it too. Husband wants to do Alaric still and I’m not against that but now I’m torn.

Which do you like better? Malachi or Alaric? (Alaric pronounced ah-lare-ick not ah-larr-ick)

I think that there are many different ways to pronounce Alaric, so he’ll be correcting people his whole life. I’ve heard is pronounced “ah lar ick” which I think is the most common pronunciation. I’ve heard “al uh rick” and now I’ve seen your interpretation of it, which is different than the other 2.

Malachi is a straight forward pronunciation and not really open to interpretation.

truly didn’t realize there were so many different ways to pronounce Alaric, I think it’s just going to end up confusing everyone!

Plus I’m not the biggest fan of the nicknames that could go with. Al and Rick just aren’t my fave.
