keybind confusion (I NEED A MODERATOR RESPONSE) (2024)

I am here to ask about keybind rules, I read the hypixel rules and some of the discussions on the forum, but I am still confused. I want to bind a letter key to my mouse (and only use it on my mouse) for placing blocks, since it gives me a higher cps for some reason. This to me seems like a minecraft feature, but I got banned from a different server for doing it. So, since I don't want a Hypixel ban, I am here to ask whether or not it is allowed. Another thing I think might actually be against the rules would be wanting to bind the "q" key to my mouse, and use it on my mouse and keyboard, mouse for spamming shift to I can deal good KB and keyboard for just normal sprinting (I was born with one hand and I can't spam "q" on the keyboard).

UPDATE: I had a small chat with ChatGPT, and it said that it's not technically against the rules, but it's also not technically allowed. It told me to reach out to support and ask them for their personal permission since it's on the line of keeping rules and breaking them. Until I get a Moderator response, I will not be using any bindings that could potentially give me an unfair advantage.

You want to bind a letter key to your mouse, and bind the letter key to placing blocks? isnt that literally just swapping out a keyboard key with your mouse? you basically get the exact same outcome lol.. Unless you mean youre binding your mouse keybind to a keyboard key, then that usually gets flagged as an autoclicker when holding the key, as it is literally just an autoclicker then

Spamming shift while comboing someone deals more knockback, thus making a better combo.

That's what I thought but I don't know since I got banned from a speedbridging server for using it.

But it doesn't say anywhere that it's strictly prohibited, the only things I've seen were about minecraft mods.

modifying your hardware to gain unfair advantages is basically like creating a macro for something in most cases. It is very much prohibited. Thats like saying glueing your fingers to your mouse is allowed but using a macro to hold down the mouse button isnt

all I really want is just a mod to tell me whether or whether not it's allowed so I have someone to quote on it.

I guess that makes sense, it's just that I already have a disadvantage due to only having one hand, and it's not modifying hardware if I'm using a pre-made mouse, is it?
