Have you ever heard of "magic mushrooms?" #Psilocybin, a psychedelic compound found in 200 fungi species has been historically known to be used for religious and cultural healing purposes. However, in recent years, this plant has been studied for its potential to treat certain #MentalHealth disorders.This year, at least 24 states have considered bills to decriminalize Psilocybin.States like Oregon and Colorado are the first to do so, adopting Psilocybin programs to create healing centers for people suffering from depression, PTSD, and substance use disorder. We'd like to share a story with you...The Commission is on the verge of deciding whether to allocate $42 million toward research into ibogaine therapy, a move that could nationally transform treatment for OUD.So, where did this story begin? ⬇️Bryan Hubbard, the Executive Director of the KY Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission, has been keenly exploring the potential of psychedelic-assisted therapies to combat the opioid crisis, a significant concern in KY due to its high opioid-related death rate (over 80,000 deaths in the U.S. from overdoses last year and KY’s death rate is twice the national average).In his research, Hubbard came across a newsletter by Julia Reibelt, a psychedelics advocate. Intrigued by Julia's account of her healing journey with psilocybin, he initiated a conversation with her.As fate would have it, Julia had recently undergone ibogaine treatment at Beond Ibogaine Treatment During their talk, she introduced Hubbard to ibogaine, a powerful psychedelic sourced from the West African iboga plant. 🌿 🇬🇦This revelation from Julia inspired Hubbard to investigate further.
